Caucasian Chalk Circle
Circumstances of the creation
In 1996, when he was Head of Music at LASALLE-SIA College of the Arts, Casteels created this score for a theatre production of the College's School of Drama then headed by Sandy Phillips. The Caucasian Chalk Circle is one of the most famous plays by the German modernist playwright Bertolt Brecht, written in 1944 while Brecht was in the United States.
