Dā pācem, Domine betekent Schenk vrede, Heer. Het wordt gebruikt in diverse christelijke liturgieën, met name in de Introitus en andere gebeden van de Mis voor tijden van oorlog of tijdens bepaalde kerkelijke perioden zoals de Vasten. Het volledige gebed smeekt God om vrede en bescherming, omdat "er niemand anders is die voor ons strijdt behalve u, onze God

Dā pācem, Domine is de titel van het slotconcert van Lou Van Cleynenbreugel als dirigent van het kamerkoor Cantifoone van Bilzen. De concerten vonden plaats op zaterdag 28-II-2026 in Sint-Germanuskerk Tienen en op zondag 1-III-2026 in Sint-Mauritiuskerk Bilzen. De verhaallijn van het concert overspant zowel het lijden in deze wereld  als de horizon van vrede waarnaar we allen streven.  De thema’s onderscheiden zich als: de smeekbede - de weg van het Kruis - een moeder op Golgotha - een horizon van Vrede.  Het benadrukt vier manieren van ‘kijken’: naar onszelf als lijdende mens, naar Christus als zoenoffer voor het herstel van de relatie tussen God en mens,  naar de lijdende Moeder(s) en naar onze hoop op innerlijke Vrede. Een Cantifoone productie opgebouwd als een doorlopend verhaal met religeuze muziek van Johan Sebastian Bach, Myroslav Skoryk, Gabriël Fauré, Arvo Pärt, Joseph Rheinberger, John Rutter, Franz Schubert en Juliaan Wilmots rond het thema van Lijden, Loutering, Aanvaarding en Vrede. Rob Casteels schreef aan coda dat is een zes-stemmig omkeerbaar contrapunt met 12 tema's uit de 12 delen. Daarna zingt het koor seven maal Amen.

Programme notes in English

Dā pācem, Domine means "Grant peace, O Lord." It is used in various Christian liturgies, particularly in the Introit and other prayers of the Mass for times of war or during certain ecclesiastical periods such as Lent. The full prayer implores God for peace and protection, because "there is no other who fights for us but you, our God."

Dā pācem, Domine is the title of the farewell concert for Lou Van Cleynenbreugel as conductor of the chamber choir Cantifoone from Bilzen. The concerts took place on Saturday, February 28, 2026, in the Sint-Germanus Church in Tienen and on Sunday, March 1, 2026, in the Sint-Mauritius Church in Bilzen. The concert's narrative spans both the suffering in this world and the horizon of peace for which we all strive.

The themes are distinguished as: The Supplication – The Way of the Cross – A Mother on Golgotha – A Horizon of Peace. It emphasizes four ways of 'seeing': looking at ourselves as suffering human beings, at Christ as an atoning sacrifice for the restoration of the relationship between God and humanity, at the suffering Mother(s), and at our hope for inner Peace.

A Cantifoone production structured as a continuous narrative featuring religious music by Johann Sebastian Bach, Myroslav Skoryk, Gabriel Fauré, Arvo Pärt, Joseph Rheinberger, John Rutter, Franz Schubert, and Juliaan Wilmots, centered around the theme of Suffering, Purification, Acceptance, and Peace. Rob Casteels wrote a coda, which is a six-part reversible counterpoint featuring 12 themes from the 12 sections. Following this, the choir sings Amen seven times.
