13-string koto and western string quartet
Programme notes
The music hopes to be self explanatory to the listener. Our lives unfold like dotted lines in the skies. The lines The stars move to the west. Your soul moves to the east. The world sings to the seagull.
are part of the poem titled A Seagull and a Soul by Gopal Baratham (1935–2002), a highly distinguished Singaporean intellectual known for his dual careers as a prominent neurosurgeon and an internationally acclaimed writer.
