Programme notes

(Dixit Casteels) The inspiration for this composition based on number seven was a contemporary dance performance by Frontier Danceland that I watched in May 2018. The final piece of their performance entitled Dead Bodies according to X-Event protocol Les corps morts consisted of seven dancers placed on seven individual and separate pedestals. The dancers enter into a cycle of physical attacks they inflict on themselves and that lead them to the limits of their resistance. The dance performance had no sound track. ἑβδομηκοντάκις opus 114A remained unperformed but turned out to become the powerful departure point of Resilience opus 114B C D and E, Bubbles opus 132A and B, Sar(y)ang opus 134 and Acqua nel rifelsso opus 136.
