Spirit of Wood (nr 2)
Tape
Programme notes
This version for tape was designed to be played continuously during the exhibition Spirit of Wood which celebrated the continuity of Malaysian woodcarving as a living art. As the piece is intended for an exhibition of Malaysian woodcarving, the sense of stillness serves both aesthetic and functional purposes. It complements the spacial nature of the woodcarvings as static objects and avoids dramatic peaks that may distract the viewer from the exhibits.
