Le titre Trois-vingts fait référence au chiffre soixante dans le système de numération vigésimal (base vingt). Diverses langues indo-européennes, dont le français, utilisaient autrefois ce système avant l'adoption généralisée de la base dix. Commandée par l'Alliance Française de Singapour pour célébrer son soixantième anniversaire, Trois-vingts est une œuvre écrite pour violon, violoncelle, harpe et piano. La pièce fut créée le 16-IV-2009 par le trio I-Sis, avec Albert Lin au piano. Avec une joie célébratrice, confiante et contagieuse, la composition est bâtie autour d'une cellule rythmique sautillante qui est répétée allègrement soixante fois à travers six éléments musicaux distincts. Trois-vingts est dédié à Pierre-Emmanuel Jacob

Programme notes in English

The title Trois-vingts refers to the number sixty in the vigesimal (base twenty) numeral system. Various Indo-European languages, including French, used this base twenty numeral system before the base ten system became predominant. Commissioned by the Alliance Française de Singapour to celebrate its sixtieth anniversary, Trois-vingts for violin, cello, harp, and piano was premiered on April 16, 2009, by the I-Sis Trio and Albert Lin on piano. With a joyful, confident, and infectious celebratory mood, a rhythmic cell cheerfully hops sixty times across six musical elements. Trois-Vingts is dedicated to Pierre-Emmanuel Jacob.
