Programme notes

The seven Venus Transit Concert Studies for solo hoorn, solo trumpet, solo tenor trombone, solo euphonium, solo bass trombone, solo tuba and solo alpine horn originated from Casteels' Symphony nr 5 Veneris Transitus Symphoniae, opus 87 for brass instruments, cosmic sounds, moving images and text. The concert studies are based on the same compositional material than the symphony, but arranged in a different sequential order.
