Sat July 10 (8pm), Sun July 11 (4pm and 7pm SG time) @ the Esplanade Recital Studio, part of the 1.5hr concert entitled Résonances¿Rəsiliəncə! op. 114D [19’19’’], film by Tejas Ewing [19’19’’] on a soundtrack composed by R Casteels, with life performance by Sabrina Zuber (movement and voice), Yong Kai Lin (augmented violin), Bertram Wee (piano) and R Casteels (keyboard).

 

Fri Aug 27 (7.30pm SG time) @ Victoria Concert Hall, part of 1.5hr event entitled Composing for the Organ, hosted by Dr Margaret Chen and presented by the Singapore Symphony Orchestra under the VCH Presents Organ series, three organ compositions and transcreations by R Casteels played by the composer: Abba opus 82, Dayung Sampan and Flower Drum Song.

 

Sat Sept 25 (8pm SG time) and Sun Sept 26 (3pm SG time) @ 10 Square @ Orchard Central (181 Orchard road Orchard Central #10-01/ Somerset mrt), 1hr event entitled Bridges hosted by the Belgian Embassy in Singapore, three short movies on soundtracks composed by R Casteels: Nine Dragons op. 117, film by Cécile Chagnaud [9'], ¿Rəsiliəncə! op. 114D, film by Tejas Ewing [19'19"], with life performance by Yong Kai Lin on the augmentend violin and R Casteels at the piano and Bubbles op. 132B (world premiere) [15'15"], film by Frank Pinckers on a poem by Guido Gezelle, with online performance from Tienen (BE) by archlutist Jurgen De Bruyn, trombonist Dree Peremans, tenor & hornist Mathis Van Cleynenbreugel en percussionist Carlo Willems.

 

Thursday Sept 30 (8pm SG time) and Thursday Nov 4 (4pm and 8pm SG time) @ the Esplanade Recital Studio, instrumental, vocal and dance 1.5hr recital entitled Like Nothing Else with works by Cl. Debussy and the following compositions by R. Casteels: L'(autre) fille aux cheveux de Bali [4'10"] transcreation for Chinese string trio, vibraphone and an ensemble of Solonese, Balinese and Burmese metallophones, Il Pleure dans mon coeur for female voices and piano opus 14 (Singapore premiere) and Acqua nel riflesso opus 136 (world premiere) [22'] on two poems by Giuseppe Ungaretti, with life performance by Angela Cortez and Sabrina Zuber (voices), Emmanuelle Grizot and Sharul Mohd (dance), R Casteels & Tabitha Gan (two pianos) and Lynette Quek (life transformation of sounds).

Sunday Oct 17 (1.30pm SG time), e-launch of the book entitled “Stories of Integration, 30 Singaporeans who made an impact” written by Vandana Aggarwal and published by Marshall Cavendish, with one chapter devoted to Robert Casteels entitled “Forging a musical pathway to integration”.

 

Thursday Oct 21 (7pm SG time), 1hr online event hosted by NUS Centre for the Arts as part of the ExxonMobil Campus Concerts Festival: Bubbles opus 132A (world premiere) [15’15’’] film by Clare Chong on a soundtrack composed by R Casteels, with sonic transformation by Calla Lim, with e-dance performance by Anka Frankenhaueser (AUS) and Yarra Ileto (SG) choreographed by Stephanie Burridge.

 

 

Friday Nov 19 (8pm BE time) @ Centre culturel l’Entrela’, rue de Paris 43 à 1140 Evere – Bruxelles, concert Osmose Intermezzo: Sur la pointe des pieds op 133 with Geneviève Lannoy (guitar) & Bruno Ispiola (violoncello).
